Conquer Constipation

Don’t Forget Water

  • While drinking more water does not cure constipation, adding more water to your daily routine will help keep the stool soft and make it easier to pass.

Boost the Magnesium to Your Daily Routine

  • A potent relaxant that has a calming effect on the body – supplementation works well when your digestive track is a bit tense and sluggish.
  • Natural sources of magnesium include pumpkin seeds, dark leafy greens and black beans, but if you need an extra boost, a magnesium supplement might be necessary.

Add Triphala to your Diet

  • An Ayurvedic herbal supplement made from the fruits of three different trees.
  • Gently cleanses, detoxifies, and heals the body without irritating the colon.
  • Aids in regularity.

Exercise Daily

  • Lack of exercise can be the culprit of constipation.
  • Make a point to get up and move every hour and take a 10-minute walk at lunchtime.
  • Schedule exercise every day, whether it’s a walk on the beach, Zumba class, a fast-paced walk, TRX, or yoga. Do something you like.

Remove White and Processed Food

  • This applies to everyone at all times, but specifically if you’re experiencing any digestive upset, cut back drastically on your intake of white flour, dairy, and sugar.
  • White flour and gluten work like glue in the body.
  • Dairy is linked to digestive issues and can cause inflammation in the intestines.
  • Sugar feeds the bad bacteria in the gut, which can lead to gas, bloating, and constipation.

Add in Fiber

  • All fruits and Vegetables
  • Beans and Legumes
  • Leafy greens
  • Nuts and Chia Seeds
  • Whole Grains
